Assessing Heavy Metals in Sediment of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal by Statistical and Geochemical Analysis

نویسندگان

چکیده

Statistical analysis and geochemical approaches were exploited for the heavy metals (HMS) assessment in sediments from Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Single source (crustal) was identified using principal component (PCA). Furthermore, enrichment factor (EF) denoted contaminated sites by HMS study area while EF value reveal minor or no anthropogenic most sites. The activities that suggested to be primarily agriculture automobile repair discharge.

Remote Sensing Analysis of the Status of the Beijing-hangzhou Grand Canal

Remote sensing began with the use of aerial photography and is acknowledged as a valuable tool for viewing, analyzing, characterizing, and making decisions about our environment. The Grand Canal of China is the longest ancient canal in the world and recently approved as the Key National Relics-preservation Unit. In our work multi-source and multi-temporal remote sensing data, including the aeri...

Assessment of heavy metals contamination in Mamut river sediments using sediment quality guidelines and geochemical indices.

This paper describes the concentration of selected heavy metals (Co, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn) in the Mamut river sediments and evaluate the degree of contamination of the river polluted by a disused copper mine. Based on the analytical results, copper showed the highest concentration in most of the river samples. A comparison with Interim Canadian Sediment Quality Guidelines (ICSQG) and Germany Sedi...

A Survey of 42 Semi-Volatile Organic Contaminants in Groundwater along the Grand Canal from Hangzhou to Beijing, East China

The status of organic pollution in groundwater in eastern China along the Grand Canal from Hangzhou to Beijing was evaluated. Forty-two semi-volatile organic contaminants were analyzed, including 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), seven polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), 12 organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and seven organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs). Among the detected contaminants, PA...

Using stream sediment data to determine geochemical anomalies by statistical analysis and fractal modeling in Tafrash Region, Central Iran

Iranian Cenozoic magmatic belt, known as Urumieh-Dokhtar, is recognized as an important polymetallic mineralization which hosts porphyry, epithermal, and polymetallic skarn deposits. In this regard, multivariate analyses are generally used to extract significant anomalous geochemical signature of the mineral deposits. In this study, stepwise factor analysis, cluster analysis, and concentration–...
